Currently every day something new about the tightening measures of tobacco legislation comes out. The Turkey president, Abdullah Gul, signed the new smoking prohibition in restaurants and bars. Thailand has forbidden smoking cigarettes even in markets and cafes. At the same time a wave of protests among angry smokers appear all over the globe. Israel, for example, is planning to return to its citizens at the least the part of nicotine freedom. The beginning of tobacco prohibitions appeared in early 2003 after the WHO 56th session, when the international agreement against smoking was passed. By 2008 almost a 150 countries and EU joined it. This document provided for total prohibition or restrictions of tobacco ads, some tax measures, and tough requirements for marking. The Convention binds also to indicate tobacco and cigarettes smoke content on cheap cigarettes packages. But the most worst thing for smokers are smoking bans in public areas and rise in prices. Cigarettes become expensive and it is already hard to find the cheap cigarettes This opposition was also met by many countries in Europe. As a result, smoking is banned in all cafes, restaurants, clubs, pubs in Bavaria. It’s the toughest anti tobacco actions from existing in Germany ever. Cigarettes lovers can be contented only with special rooms for smoking. Some parliamentarians think this bill to be a worsening of smokers rights. Still the last word belongs to Oktoberfest organizers and to the owners of pubs. It is hardly possible that millions of drunk smokers from different parts of the world will be afraid of penalties and will not smoke cigarettes.
